If Senate Bill 516 and/or House Bill 791 pass both houses of the legislature, the ability to change your birth certificate and driver’s license may be unavailable after October 1, 2025.
Fortunately, you can get both changed with just documentation. With the NC DL 300, you can change your drivers license. You’ll need to use Birth Certificate Modification Application form to change your birth certificate. With both documents, I highly recommend that you submit a notarized document from your health care provider.
